Can You Hear Me Now?

I believe that God puts a prayer on your heart, but it’s up to you to put that into action.

God is trying to talk to you.
Listen.
Since opening my heart to God’s voice, I have had the pleasure of hearing Him give direction to my life. You may have heard Him too, though you may have heard His voice referred to as “signs from the universe”. Nope. That’s God. The “signs” are everywhere… in the song that comes up on your iPod while it’s on shuffle… in the late night wakings that have you thinking about an old friend, whom you haven’t thought about in years… in a smile from an unexpected source… in the hearing of a phrase/ Bible verse/ message multiple times in a week.
God trying to beat you over the head.
Listen.
Recently, I’ve been asked to “contact my praying people” for various situations… jobs, relocations, health matters, financial stresses, and legal troubles to name a few.
Let me put this as clearly as possible:
If you believe asking for prayer is going to help, God is trying to talk to you.
Listen.

He wants a relationship with you. He wants you to find fellowship in a home church. He wants you to find comfort in His care, strength in knowing that He loves you, and peace with His will. God put the seed in your heart to ask for prayer in the first place.

There are 3 kinds of praying people:

  1. Those who ask for prayers because it’s just what you do in difficult situations, but they don’t necessarily believe in the power of prayer.
  2. Those who ask for prayers, knowing they can be powerful but challenge God in some fashion: If the prayers don’t work in this case, why should I believe prayers for other things should work? If the prayers don’t work in this case, God isn’t listening/ doesn’t care/ isn’t all powerful. If the prayers don’t work in this case, I’m not surprised.
  3. Those who ask for prayer, believe in the power of prayer, and accept the outcome as God’s will, even if it’s not what you prayed for.
No matter which kind of praying person you are:
Listen
God is trying to talk to you.
