Freezable February: Pizza Lunchables

As part of my Freezable February, I’m going to be testing out some new lunchy recipes to toss in Big’s lunchbox. Up first, Pizza Lunchables! WE’ll see if she’ll actually eat them. I’m sort of guessing she’ll eat the crust, not put the sauce on, and probably eat the cheese.

Pizza Lunchables

Recipe from: Food.com

  • 16 ounces pizza dough (I use the Pillsbury canisters)
  • 3 cups pizza sauce
  • 3 cups cheese , shredded
  • 24 snack size ziploc bags
  • 12 quarts size ziploc bags

Directions:

  1. Roll out pizza dough and bake according to directions on the canister.
  2. Put 1/4 cup of cheese in 12 snack size ziploc bags.
  3. Put 1/4 cup of sauce in 12 snack size bags.
  4. When the pizza crust is done cut into 12 squares. (The package says that 1/6 of a package is a serving which is where I am coming up with the serving sizes).
  5. Place two squares in each quart size ziploc.
  6. Add one cheese packet and one sauce packet in the package with the crust.
  7. Freeze.
  8. To eat, have your child put one package in their lunch box and by lunchtime it will the thawed and ready to eat!

  1. I like this idea. I would need to add pepperoni since those are the ones Paige likes at school. But, could you do a costing to compare how much it would cost to make this vs buying LUnchables when they are on sale for $1-$1.50 each?

Have an opinion? Of course you do! Why not share is here? All bloggers love to get a little comment love! :)
